Paris Open a Wimbledon Tournament officially played in Paris is set to start with their Quarter Final after few days. The men and women those who have qualified for quarter finals are in their busy schedules of practicing to win the Grand Slam. The match played between Chanelle Scheepers of South Africa versus Maria Sharapova of Russia came to an end with decision of Maria Sharapova beats Chanelle Scheepers by 6 – 3, 6 – 1 to qualify for the quarter finals of Paris Open.
As, Maria Sharapova is playing for the first time in this Paris Open tournament, the game starts and Maria Sharapova starts holding the game from the beginning of the match. She made a couple of breaks back to back in the starting of the first set but afterward she became better and better with the arena and the atmosphere around. She was playing like a lightning bolt from one side to another with a fabulous win in the first set with 6 – 3.
At the starting of the second set Chanelle Scheepers tried to make up but it was not her day of play, she dropped serve 4 times and then broke twice. Maria Sharapova again started to make her impact on Chanelle and then Chanelle sent a backhand stroke to pass the ball on the other side of the court but she was unable to and makes the ball into nets. The backhand stroke in reply of Maria’s forehand and Maria Sharapova make it a game by winning the second set by 6 – 1 and qualified for the quarter finals. After winning the match Maria Sharapova said that she was not expecting the turf to be so fast and hard but likes it and also said that she liked the atmosphere where it seems like the fans are very close.
After the declaration of rankings by WTA Maria Sharapova made herself up at the second position, whereas the former second ranker Petra Kvitova failed to hold herself on second position and moved down from WTA rankings.
